A daily account of British actor/comedian W.H. Williams' time in New York City as a performer at James Wallack's National Theater. The diary covers the first six months of 1838, despite the fact Williams had arrived in New York on August 28, 1837. Typical entries include what time Williams awoke and went to bed, his activities for the day, friends he spent time with, and his role in that evening's performance.
